Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was selected to be the first agency in the nation for the re-launch of the Neighborhood Watch program and to pilot the companion app ICE Blackbox. This app allows citizens to record suspicious activity or crimes in progress using their smartphone and transmit that video to our dispatch in near real time. The Mobile App can stream audio, video and GPS information to a secure server that acts as a silent witness. It will call 911 or your ICE contacts. Or you can send the information to your Watch Captain, local Sheriff’s office, or Police Station; the recordings are secure. The recordings upload immediately so even if your phone is taken from you, they will be on the secure server. We are partnering with ICE BlackBox to provide this technology
